Great news! The 2010 April AKKI Camp Schedule has been posted!

For those who don’t know, this International event will take place in Evanston, WY on April 23rd and 24th.

All Arrowhead Martial Arts students of all belt levels are invited to attend. I HIGHLY recommend you attend as you’ll get a ton out of it. It’s a great experience where you can learn and train with AKKI Kenpoists from all over the World and get to meet all of the wonderful people in our organization.

This is going to be a pretty special camp for me not just because I get to teach two seminars but because I also have students testing for various levels. Not only that but Steve and Josh are going to test for their 1st degree Black Belts; which always takes these camps  to a whole different level for me. Attaining ones Black Belt is a huge accomplishment and one I hope you set as a goal, too. Both Steve and Josh have come a long way since they both started training here and I will be proud to have them as my latest Black Belts!

WHAT TO BRING

If you have a favorite food, drink or desert item you wanted to bring, please do! Be sure to include what you’re bringing on the RSVP sheet so we know how to plan. We’ll have all the basics covered like cold cuts, cheeses, bread, water, sprite, root beer, etc. If not, just show up ready to have a good time!

DONATION DRIVE

Once again we will be supporting the YWCA of Salt Lake City this year. Bring your donations the evening of the party or before. You can purchase one item or 100. It’s up to you how much you donate. We will have a donation box just as you walk into the workout room. Join the studio and many of our other students in donating to this great cause. Remember, every donation counts!

WHAT TO DONATE

You can either donate money or buy gifts from their wish list. A list of new items to buy and donate can be picked up at the studio during class hours or you can download their wish list here.  They desperately need every day items like clothing, shoes, and jackets of all sizes and styles. As an option, you can also donate cash and we will go purchase items in your name. 100% of your donations will go to this cause.

As always, I was extremely proud of all of you and really glad to see you on the test floor. You represented our school well. Now take the experience and build on it and let it help you grow.

Second, thank you for all the students and instructors who were able to attend and support the camp. I know for some, this was your very first camp and probably are a little bit wide eyed at the whole experience. It was good to have you all there and I look forward to seeing you again at future camps.

Thanks! Another successful camp. I came back feeling the familiar excitement for the depths of the art–and feeling a few bruises and aches too. It really is amazing the amount of material that is offered there. I hope more people can come in six months.

I would just like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in Mr. Mills International September 2009 Kenpo Camp in Evanston Wyoming. Also, thanks to those who attended my seminars and hope you got a lot out of them. For those who couldn’t make my seminars, I will be teaching some of the ideas in class soon.

It was a fun for me to have you all learn from my instructor Mr. Paul Mills as well as the other senior black belts in the AKKI.There were a lot of great seminars on developing the proper mindset, reflexive response training, power, timing, knives, ground fighting, forms, techniques, sets and more.

As usual, my head is still swimming. How about yours?

September 2009 Paul Mills International Kenpo Camp in  Evanston Wyoming

Remember, all students who train at Arrowhead Martial Arts are eligible to go, no matter what belt level or experience you have, and it is highly encouraged that you attend.

I will be teaching one seminar on Friday and one on Saturday. Please feel free to attend other seminars as I will cover that material with everyone after the camp.

Also, I’ve been asked a couple of times if you can just go and watch. The answer is yes, but you will still have to pay for the seminars. And, if you’re going to go, you might as well jump on the floor and train!

Please note that  the costs for the camp are on a per day basis instead of on a per session basis.
