10 new yellow belt students successfully passed their Orange belt test on Saturday, July 9, 2011. It was a great 1.5 hour test with a lot of intensity and focus in front of a black belt board of examiners. We had several family members and students in attendance which made for a great time.

It’s been an amazing journey and I can’t believe how fast time has flown by the past 3,650 days.
We originally started in the basement of Body By Banks Fitness Club in downtown Salt Lake City in 2001. We survived three different owners before finally moving up to a gymnastics facility just off I-80 and Foothill around 2004. That lasted about a year before we found a another fitness facility to train out of on Wasatch called FOCUS Fitness in 2005. We survived two owners there before finding our current standalone facility in 2008.
We’ve taught many adults in that time and have produced some of the best black belts around. In fact, we have four up and coming students preparing to test for black belt this year alone.
I’m still excited to come to class… see everyone… and teach such an amazing martial arts system. I truly miss our studio when I’m on vacation or sick and wish I could be there working out with everyone.
I feel like we have created the martial arts training environment I wished I always had when I started over 20 years ago. It’s been a true labor of love.
Thank you for your continued support of our martial arts studio exclusively for adults and for helping me make it one of the best martial arts studios in Salt Lake City Utah over the last ten years.

“Like everyone else, I was a bit nervous attending my first trial class at Arrowhead. That anxiousness lasted about thirty seconds, thanks to the warmth of the instructors. By the end of the first class, I knew I had found the right place. They were extremely patient from the get-go, and that hasn’t changed one bit after several months of taking the class. One of my favorite aspects of the program is that the class is broken down into smaller groups, with rotating instructors, all of them experienced and awesome teachers. We all have different learning styles, so it really makes sense to have different teachers. The program also attracts a wide range of friendly students, from guys fresh out of high school to women old enough to be their mothers. Every one of them is capable of learning the art of kenpo.”
